INGE’S OUMA’S MUSTARD RECIPE

Our newest team member, Inge shares her grandmother’s sweet mustard recipe that is the perfect addition to almost any meal (especially a Christmas leftover meat sandwich).

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar (brown grape vinegar is best)
  • 3 eggs (jumbo size is best)
  • 1 T English mustard powder
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  • Melt sugar with the vinegar.
  • Add a small amount of the vinegar mixture with the eggs, mustard and salt. Allow the vinegar mixture to cool before adding to eggs.
  • Add everything to the vinegar mixture and cook in a double boiler for 10 minutes or until thick.
