For the SA launch of the JAN Innovation Studio we were tasked with creating an interactive food experience. Inspired by the theme of nostalgic, indigenous foods, we created a superfood snack made from popcorn, buchu, spirulina, mealworm powder and baobab, which were encased in a large glass cabinet. Guests were invited to step up on to our stepladder and help themselves to a scoop of popcorn. To add to the overall sensory experience, we also included sounds of popcorn popping.
Along with the concept, we developed the popcorn recipe, did the graphic design elements and production of the installation, which will change on a quarterly basis.
